The schools located in Searingtown are considered excellent by the students, the staff and the community. These schools all boast a much lower student-to-teacher ratio than the national average, as well as about twice as much money spent on each student per year.
The Center Street School is located in Williston Park, but is home to some of the students living in Searingtown. This is a primary institution that has students from kindergarten through the fifth grade. A total of 590 students attend this school, which boasts a better-than-average education. The test scores on standardized testing are as much as 10 percent higher than other schools outside of the Searingtown district.
Searingtown School is home to roughly 588 students from kindergarten to the fifth grade. This school has proven its excellence, ranking 89th of 2,535 elementary schools in the state of New York. With only 11.5 students to every teacher, children are given much more 1:1 time than in other schools.
Herricks Middle School is part of the Herricks Union Free School District. It is the school that the Denton Elementary, Searingtown School and Center Street Schools feed into. This school is home to students in grades six through eight. In keeping with the same excellence of the elementary schools, this intermediate institution has been awarded the blue ribbon by the US Department of Education.
Herricks High School is the school for students in the ninth through 12th grade that live in the Searingtown community. This public school also continues with the excellence that is known to the public schools of Searingtown, and one student has been awarded as a semi-finalist in the Siemens Math, Science and Technology Competition. Of the 1,541 students who applied, only 317 of these students were awarded the distinction as a semi-finalist.
There are 1,450 students enrolled in the high school that is rich in cultural diversity. Over half of the students come from homes that are not English speaking. The school system and the families that live in this area are committed to educating the children in preparation for higher education.
