Searingtown Things To Do

Featured Story
Searingtown Things To Do

Searingtown, NY is a cozy community comprising one square mile of land near the west end of Long Island. Residents living here work elsewhere. The quality of life in this small area is quite high - as are the taxes and the commitment to education.

Community Activities

Fortunately, there are places nearby that can be easily accessed for shopping trips and outdoor or indoor activities. The Searingtown neighborhood is part of the larger village of Roslyn and places like Mineola and North Hempstead are quite close. Some of the Searingtown things to do include:

* Nassau County Museum of Art

* Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum

* Sea Cliff Village Museum

* Clark Botanical Gardens

* Long Island Children’s Museum

* Planting Fields Arboretum Public Gardens

* Grant Park

* Alley Pond Environmental Center

* Eisenhower Park

* Oil City Skate Park

That is the short list. Bus tours, helicopter, train, biking, sightseeing and walking tours leave from an assortment of surrounding villages like Hicksville, Levittown, Freeport, Jamaica, Glen Cove, Great Neck and several other nearby towns or villages. It is also possible to charter fishing trips for serious wranglers.

Attractive Community

Most adults living here average 40 years old with young, active families. This square mile of land mass is residential with small businesses polka dotting the landscape. It is a short drive to the Hamptons as well as Orient Point where you can easily board the ferry for a weekend vacation in nearby Connecticut.

If you don’t have a car, you are not isolated or alone because public transportation takes people anywhere they wish including Searingtown things to do. Although separated from the large noisy locations, it is still close enough to access both work and recreation. Long Island has many villages and neighborhoods. Searingtown is only one of them, albeit a small, cozy, comfortable one.
